In January this year, the SEAK’s and the Southport Memorial Club Fishing Club (Fisho’s as they are affectionately known) combined to hold a Bare Foot Bowls Game Day at the Southport Lawn Bowls Club.
Weather was on our side and a great day was had by all.
We gathered at the Bowls Club around lunch time, with a many members sampling the cuisine, and hit the greens at 1 o’clock. With 16 players we split into a couple of teams and the battle was on. After much cheating and obscure rules being touted the Presidents team were once again victorious.
The peanut gallery was delighted with the on field antics, and as one “old salt” said “I wouldn’t miss this for the world”
All up about 24 of us had a fun day of activity and fellowship.
We appreciate the hospitality, support and tolerance of the Southport Lawn Bowls Club especially Patty and Chris.
This is the second occasion that we have had this event and look forward to another in 2016.
